Cody as it used to be in the late 1800’s.  26 Historic Buildings donated by ranchers and reassembled where Bill Cody originally established the town (a stop on the Trolley Tour).

Buffalo Bill Historical Center

A Western Rose Motel is just 10 blocks from the Buffalo Bill Historical Center (Buffalo Bill Museum,  Cody Firearms Museum, Draper Natural History Museum, Whitney Western Art Museum, Plains Indian Museum, McCracken Research Library) ALL which have Smithsonian quality exhibits and an extensive collection of American firearms. Hours are from 8AM-6PM. Passes are good for 2 days. Allow a minimum 4 hours.

Rodeo is important in the culture in Cody, which calls itself the “Rodeo Capital of the World”. The Cody Nite Rodeo is an amateur rodeo every night from June 1 through August 31 at 8PM. Tickets are available at the Rodeo or they can be purchased in advance, although usually not necessary unless during the 4th of July.

Cody, also offers free attractions and outdoor activities as Buffalo Bill Dam, Wild Sheep Foundation, Cody Dug Up Guns and outdoor activities (fee) such as golf (18 hole and mini for kids), bicycling, rock-climbing, horseback riding, hunting, hiking, bird and wildlife watching, spectacular trout stream fishing and river-rafting. Tour or self guided for Wild Mustang viewing as well.

Yellowstone is also accessible from Cody via the North East Entrance (Cooke City, MT) via the Chief Joseph Byway /Beartooth Hwy, these are some of the most scenic roads in this part of the country.
